If we want to make small, incremental changes in our lives, focus on behavior--on efficiency. And sure, we could would all benefit from five percent more self-control and efficiency. But if we want to create a sea change, massive change, we've got to focus on paradigm. A new paradigm will transform our results.
The challenge is, how do we experience this paradigm shift? We typically already know what it will take to get to the next level. Yes, it's doing that thing you are thinking you need to do, that you know will help you if you do it, that you dread doing. Perhaps it sounds obvious or even circular, but I submit the only way to find a better paradigm is to live up to the one we have already.
